Suggestions for new suspension?

Hey guys,

I'm riding on Koni Yellows with H&R Sports, the shocks are about to give so I'm looking to get something new. I would prefer something a little higher than what it's at now (I think it was a 1.5-2 inch drop from stock...not sure) and something a bit softer for a smoother ride. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you guys having anything you want to sell me, let me know.

Thats actually a great set-up already. If the shocks are worn out, you can get them rebuilt and change the Sports to the OE Sports which are a little higher. The Koni Reds might be another option.

koni yellows blew on h&r sports? wow! how does that happen?

I actually meant to ask that. They will eventually wear out like any shock will. They are wear and tear parts just like tires and brake pads.

i just installed that set up on my 05 coupe....so far so good.

They've been on my car for a pretty long time, for at least 100,000 km and I'm the second owner of them. So I imagine that it's just normal wear and tear.

Anyone know where I can get another set of Koni yellow's and OE springs? Price?

I heard that the Koni Red's were a little stiffer.

itf you want a softer ride just go for a full coilover set-up... you are looking to buy another set of springs and another set of shocks? shocks... like 550? springs like 300? thats like 850? for like an extra 600 or so, you would be riding on a decent set of coilovers and you can maintain a low stance but still keep the optimal shock travel if you get the coilovers with adjustable perches.

i have h&r race riding on kyb agxs (They still didn't blow yet!!!!!!!!) and when i set the ride to the softest setting they ride pretty well considering i am on like a 2.5" drop or something like that...

did u cut the bump stops on the shocks when they were installed to allow for a little more travel?

Evo_TPX 26-Mar-2006 01:20 PM

Really? I've always heard that coilovers tend to have a rougher ride.

No I didn't cut the bump stops on the shocks or anything like that.

I'm a little tight on cash right now, so I don't think I'd be able to afford a coilover set up like that.
