Any good suggestions for tire selections for 13" vx rims? Looking for summer performance tires. I have a 88 dx hatch bone stock suspensions now.

THanks

I guess what I meant was.....what would you guys recommend to put on those rims? I was doing a search on tires and I know some brands don't make tires for that size.....

If you can find them Michelin XZX's. Good luck on those - they are rare....(and I'm not giving up mine!!)

For performance you can use the following:

based on 175/70/13

Sumitomo HTR200
Yokohama AVID T4
Goodyear Radial TA
Dunlop SP800 (crappy tire has a sale on them now..)
Bridgestone Potenza RE900
Pirelli P400
Michelin MX4

Since you are using a 5" rim I would stay 70 series.

If you use 6" wide you can use Kuhmo Victoracers or Hoosiers....

Thanks for the advices

By the way...do you think I can go to 195 or 205 on those rims? If I decided to use HR sport spring later...there should be no problem right?

thanx

No. Largest I would run is 185/70/13.

You can look at 205/60/13 - but your rims are too narrow for the 60 series tire.

Sorry I am new to tires here....when you say my rims is too narrow for the 60 series...I thought 60 mean the profile which is the % of the width..

so....the largest you would recommend is 185 and 195 or 205 will the to wide (width wise) to my rims???

Sorry I am new...needs some teaching....ha ha ha

np...

Yes, the 60 series profile is too wide for your rim.

185 is the tallest you'd want to run. 195 and 205 would look like donuts, and you'd be slow off the line..

you can get good brand name 13" tires but they'll still be ****ty *** tires...you gotta go into the bigger sizes for REAL performance tires.
