High travelling speed - i.e. 140+ on highway
High revving in gears
Old engine needs tune up - use some seafoam or fuel injection cleaner kit.

I had the same issue. I was getting more or less 550 to 600 then often I got 500. After another seafoam, oil change and a stiff engine mount, gas mileage went up.

Right now I am getting roughly 15km per liter.

i could see getting better milage after a tune up but you would thing it would be a gradual loss in milage and not a sudden 100-150 km loss . but you probably know more than me. any other suggestions or is nova_dust fairly accurate

How do u guys get that much on a Honda civic? Are those like basic non v-tec engine? I have all si engines at home and the most i got was 400km. Not even close to 600km mark per tank. Maybe because i drive automatic and v-tec and also i give it a lot of rev all the time haha.

I would say Nova is probably correct. Reason being, you want to fix the least expensive things first to see if that fixes the problem. A tune-up and using some seafoam would be the first on the list. Check you tire pressure, and remove any unnecessary added weight to the car. Like heavy objects in you trunk.

I was going to say. I have a 2000 Si running perfectly and I only got 450 km on my last tank, down from 550 usually. I think the summer means faster driving, windows down, A/C on, worse gas mileage.

My 94 Si, D16Z6 can easily get 450-500 on about 38L of gas, with mostly city and some highway driving. (Most the time I am not granny shifting)

your car = the sUck

Mom's 96 EX AUTO does about 450K and still only fills up 32L.

14.06KM/L
