Successful 7th gen TURBO!!!

Ok, just received note that my buddy's 7th gen turbo is COMPLETE. No ignition control is available yet under Greddy E-Manage, but they are working on a software solution for it. It's 8 psi, all custom... intercooled of course. Sooooo sweet!!! It's been a 4 month project I will post pics later! Just thought I'd share the excitement. To those who said it can't be done... read this and weep LOL

oh my gosh, my friend is going to cry

he's been collecting his custom turbo parts and scrounging everywhere for info and trying to figure out his ignition and timing...and it's all just sitting in his room waiting to get put on, now you tell me someone has beat him to it

Bruno, can you pm me more details possibly so my friend can learn from his setup?

Or just show us more pics

ryuujin, yes, I'll let you know... more details to come for sure.

SiVeloz, JRSC<turbo

gatherer, old pics from 2 months ago, new ones to come. Picks up car this weekend, pics later. Ran at 757 degrees Celsius EGT, dyno tuning will be done later. EGT temps indicate a nice solid tune for right now, but the E-manage should be able to net a few more ponies in tuning.

I remember someone posted something about a turbo'd 7th gen Civic on clubsi.com. I think the guy was in Toronto as well.

There has been some issues, but nothing really major... only thing is O2 simulator, since the computer reads the Random Tech cat as ineffective, since it's far down the line it doesn't reach operating temps fast enough... so the second O2 throws an ineffective cat code right now.

can you get a more efficient cat ?? also there is a way of fooling the computer with a O2 sensor simulator .... it could be easily designed.... *hint hint*

The cat is efficient, but the ECU expects it to reach full operating temp at 50 kms, which it can't cuz it's moved farther down the line.

ECG makes O2 simulators... $50 USD

I know... this was not anticipated though, since we did put a cat in there. The stock cat is in the exhaust manifold like the DX/LX ones for the 6th gens.
