Subframe reinforcement
I need to know what brands make good subframe reinforcements? I know Beaks is one but I don't know where to get a Beaks kit.
thx. |
i think there's a SSR kit where it actually covers your whole subframe.
|
Beaks products can be ordered directly from their website.
http://www.beaksproducts.com/Products.htm There is also a company called ASR that is supposed to be better then Beaks http://www.a-spec-racing.com/product1.php You can try to contact our Affiliates for availability. |
Ic, alrite does anyone know the size of the SiR sway bar? Versus the CTR sway bar?
|
SiR front is 26mm. Rear is 13mm.
I think the CTR front is 26mm and rear is 22mm. There is one in the classifieds somewhere. You would definately need a reinforcement kit for a CTR rear. The SiR however would not. Here is a link I found that has all of the different swaybar sizes from different Hondas. http://grabka.org/articles/hondaswaybars.php |
SiR sway it is.
Also, anyone know if a rear lower tie bar will put a lot of pressure, if any, on the subframe? thx. |
rear tie bar? nope!
SiR rear sway bar will bolt right on, and you won't have to worry about the rear subframe tearing; I've even seen on Honda-Tech.com guys with the breaks kit STILL tearing the rear subfram w/ITR rear sway bar |
So what exactly does the rear tie bar do?
|
nvm i got the answer:
A Rear Lower Tie Bar will reinforce the structural integrity of the vehicle by connecting the rear control arms. This reinforces the under-body and reduces chassis flexing. By reducing chassis flexing, cornering forces are diverted to the springs and shocks, not the chassis. Allows the springs and shocks to function more effectively and efficiently. |
id either go with the SRR rear lower tie bar that has the subframe reinforcement built in, or the ASR reinforcement because the beaks kit is still prone to damaging your subframe....
|
ASR is your answer.
