Subframe Problem

Subframe Problem
Ok, I'm pretty sure that I'm an idiot. Well, I was lowering my car and the bolt that attaches the rear lower control arm to the subframe snapped. It was seized in the nut welded on to this cup thing on the other side, so I got frusterated and hacked it off with the air chisel. The bolt is out now, but so is this cup thing. I do not know what it is, or what it does, and I am wondering if I need it for something, or if I could just get a really big/strong washer and weld it on instead. The other thing is that the metal looks a little hacked up because of the spot welds I removed. There is still a clear hole where the bolt goes through it, and the metal isn't torn or anything, but I worry about something like this failing. Do you guys think that its a good idea to reinforce the subframe with a washer and then just replace the bolt/nut? Thanks.

yup just reinforce it.
happens all the time and thats what everybody does.
unless you are prepared to spend over 1500 dollars to remove the entire rear subframe and have a new one welded on and then repaint the floor of your trunk and re sound deaned it.

I have one more question. I've been thinking about this for a few days now, but do you think that its better to use the same bolt from honda and 2 nuts, or an industrial bolt from Brofasco? I heard the Brofasco bolt is stronger.
