Struts

Hey what kinds of sounds happen when the rear right strut goes??
i think mine is gone or somethings wrong with the coil overs :(

i don't know, mine's never got the chance to die before they were swapped. but if they are gone, usually they'll leak. check your shocks/struts to see if they are leaking, any fluid on the shocks/struts body means they are dead. and no, any fluid doesn't mean water on them from washing your car. :richslap: :D

what's ur setup?

tdoTcOupe 22-Apr-2002 08:14 PM

if you get a chance to put your car up on the hoist
try to push up your wheel from the bottom to the top
if you are able to push the wheel all the way up,
your strut is no good
if it stays stiff to the bottom you're okay
if your car is lowered on stock struts chances are
they're okay but not performing as they should
(your wheel is gonna go up even if the strut is okay)

I am still riding on a drop about 2" f and 2.25" r
on 17 on stock struts in a 00 Sir. Believe me it's
been time for that upgrade for a while. Getting
my red's next month.

Hope this helps you, at least this is the way it was explained to
me

If by any chance I am wrong, don't hesitate to correct me

peace

well, i think the sound is similar to that of a drum. When u go over a bump, like a low pitched "dum" noise. The rear shocks went out on my dad's car, and thats what it sounded like.

If your one rear strut is shot you'll be able to notice it right away. It would drop on the side w/ the bad strut. If not, it might have something to do w/ your coil-overs.
