strange rattling noise
 

ok heres the thing

when i start the car i get this weird rattling noise, for a while, when i aceclerate i get this noise... it sounds like something is loose and as i accelerate or brake or do anyhting that causes the car to move from dead stop it rattles.. like 2 pieces of metal touching is what it sounds like..anyone know what it is, if you say heat shield, which? its coming form the front of the car it seems or under somewhere

its hard to tell you which heat shield it is man.. you have to look for yourself. Just get under the car and hit the exhaust wuith your fist.. if its a heatshield you'll hear it rattle

my 91 civic, 5 spd, sedan, makes a weird rattling noise under load, almost like when the heater makes noise, just a lot quieter and higher pitched. It's been doing it for a while, and I have no idea what it is either. But everything seems fine.......so. unless it has a problem, dont worry. FWIW, mine sounds like it's coming from driver front of the engine bay. I've popped the hood and listened and everything sounded fine. Maybe it's a Honda thing.

its annoying

doubt it man.. the cars old, something is acting up. I skimmed through your post but maybe its an idler pulley going wrong.

Either way for Joker, you have to get under the car and find the rattle, normally its very easy to find
