Most of these ppl here dunno anything and i dun want to flame any1. U can run water. But just don't drive it in the winter because water will freeze. Is better to mix 50/50 though. Anyways that is not your problem. Did u change your own timing belt? I think u are either 1 teeth off or something. That will make that car a lot less power and also make the engine a lot louder sometimes. How loose or how tight did u put the timing belt. If u are a mechanic u should know how to check. If u try to do it yourself and save some $$$ sometimes is not a good idea because u think u know what u are doing, but sometimes doing jobs like this is confusing. Even i get confused sometimes. Some cars are really hard to adjust the crank and cam marks to line them up properly. Don't drive it anymore and check that. I am 100% sure it has something to do with your timing belt not lined up properly or maybe it came too loose and skipped a teeth. That is all i can help u. Bring it to the mechanic is the best way. I hope there's no damage to your engine though. Good luck.

okay run 100% water, see what happens.

I speak from EXPERIENCE and knowledge, not from out of my *** like half of you guys. I've used 100% water and guess what happened?

I used 100% water ...never any problems. On the track and on the street.

I used water with Water Wetter and just water alone.

What problems did you have...just curious.

The engine overheated under certain load. Never bothered to tear it apart (this was on a talon) we just sold it.

Anti-freeze transfers heat BETTER than just water, that is a proven fact, under certain load (a/c on, going up a hill, hot day, etc) your car will overheat. It also helps prevent rust and corrosion and lubricated the pump. For $14 for a gallaon, why not?

I'm not saying you will most definately overheat with just water, but I've had 3 cars overheat on me. One of which (the talon) had serious internal damage. No body believes it until they see it for themselves.

I'm sure 1sloweg will step in and back me up on this one.

thats odd. In automotive school they taught me that anti-freeze transfers heat better than water. This video says it the other way around.

I just double-checked my text book as well, it says anti-freeze is superior to water.. hm..

Either way, I'll still run a 50/50 mix of all the vehicles I service.

Yes, the best is to run it with 50/50 mix. That makes it 100% sufficient. But end of my discussion. So check the timing. Maybe u have jumped a teeth on the cam. Double check the mark on the crank and cam is all lined up properly. Then u should have no problem. Make sure it isn't too tight or too loose.

not trying to be an ***, but I'm 99% sure that Water alone transfers heat, better then anti-freeze / water mix, or even pure anti-freeze
