Strange Problem :(

I was coming home from my friends house and on the way i thought i would test the traction on my new snow tires. So i took her up through the gears at high rpms, car was already warmed up. Immediately after this i looked at my cluster and noticed my temperature went all the way to cold. It didnt so much worry me but im curious as to what caused this. Coolant is up to par and the thermostat is from crappy tire. What could cause this?Possibly the crappy thermostat? I know its hard to diagnose but maybe someone has had the same experience. Thanks

sounds like a thermostat stuck open pumping fluid constantly through the rad

or maybe your thermostat opened finally and let in a whole whack of cold coolant has it done it since any other problems

chalk it up to a mystery unless it happens again. If so, check ground leads and make sure the wiring is in good shape. Otherwise, there is no reason for spinning tires to cause your gauge to read "C"

yeah, the thermostat could bind and whatnot. I only use OEM parts for this type of service on all my cars.
