strange clicking when i brake
hey guys,
i noticed that everytime i brake i hear a rapid clicking noise... slows down as the car slows down...
my left cv boot recently ripped but im getting that fixed soon.... i've had my rright cv boot rip before and it never did that noise when i brake... so im wondering if this could be unrelated to the cv boot being ripped..
if you guys have any idea let me know... if anything its probably just the cv boot but if its not i'd like to know what it could posibly be so i can check it out..
thanx

i thought that if the rotor was warped you could feel your steering wheel shake when you brake....
do you think it could posibly also be dirt or greece cause the cv ripped and the greece from inside is all over the place now

i would replace/repair the axle first anyways. If it doesn't fix the clicking problem at least you fixed your axle (which you need to do anyways).
Pooched axles usually click when turning, but still your axle needs to be fixed.

naw... I remember twice I did brake jobs for friends, and they opted for cheap rotors, and twice we had the clicking noise. both times, the rotors ended up being warped right from the package. no shaking in the wheel cuz the defect is so minor I guess.

As I posted in my other thread I hear clicking when I turn the wheel (without braking). But the clicking comes and goes and the CV boot isn't torn.

not trying to highjack the thread. it seems like he got his question answered. im getting a clicking, more like clanking sound when i brake in a straight line. like ill be braking and then go over a bump or even a sewer sometimes and if my foot is on the brake pedal i can feel it in the pedal and hear a clanking soung
it feels like something is loose or something
id love to take a look at it myself, to learn stuff...just nowhere to hoist it up
dont even have a driveway
