straight pipe on a ef?

straight pipe on a ef?

does anyone know for fact if u can do a straight pipe in a 89 ef or have seen it in a civic is it a big conversion? let me know thanks guys

if this is for your race car why not just do an open race header? or if you want to drive it on the street get a high flow cat/cat-back set up and just unbolt the cat at the track..

Yeah its possible.... the frankeinstein crx ( gs-r bottom b16 head and "r" internals ) that I owned and a few others had itr header,test pipe and 3" straight pipe back. LOUD wasnt even the werd.

It depends on what you mean by straight pipe.

If you mean a straight pipe on the passenger side before the muffler, then yes.
The EF muffler goes crossways with an 90* bend to exit on the driver's side. An EG axleback exits on the passenger side.

A straight pipe with a straight muffler on an EF would be cheaper and easier to do. I've seen it before. You just have to cut an arc out of the rear bumper lower lip for clearance.

if you go stirght pipe and you used a couple resonator's im sure it would quite the sound down cuz its not restricted for performace at all!

i had a 2.5" straight pipe on my 89 si. with a glass packed magnaflow side mounted muffler and headers., sounded good till i hammered it, then i got that ricer rasple.
