3" exhaust for a non-FI'd car would be a waste IMO.

Regardless, to get a "pipe" installed from your header to your muffler would still cost money, especially if you go stainless.

You may want to do a search around the area to see what performance/muffler shops offer to do what you are looking for. But just don't go 3" piping unless of course you are FI

3" pipe will give u wayyyy too much backpressure on a n/a car. A good choice would be 2.25" piping or if ur running a stock dx engine, a better choice might be a 2" pipe. Try not to cause any bottle necks. The most common bottle neck is ur stock cat. And if u were to put a 3" straight pipe on there...then thats a bottleneck. So if i were u i would purchase an aftermarket testpipe. U can easily bolt it or unbolt it. Remember straight pipes are illegal, they cause way too much damage to the environment, kill ur lungs when ur sitting in ur car, and u can get a ticket for it. Forgot to mention that they emit black smoke from ur exhaust and sound really loud...sorta like a weed cutter. BTW I'm talking from experience.

also the next bad thing is that the gas milage you lose from not having a cat is going to cost you much more in the long run than just buying one now. trust me i am suffering from that now. my car a 98 sedan only gets about 350 km to a tank. that is with no cat.
