storing rims for Winter ? need help

How should you store rims for winter ?
I just took mine off... snow is here

I have heard people using vaseline or thick oil on them?

Should you clean them ? Put them in bags ?

How do you store them ? upright or stacked with cardbord in the middle ?

Please help
I searched for any links or info and couldn't find any.
Thought of course the TCC experts would know

Thanks

I have been told from the local Bridgestone Centre that they should be stacked with the air pressure released.

I have done this with two sets of rims and winter tires and no problems.

yep that's what i did, i put them in tire bags and stacked them in a corner of my basment, and it's finished and heated so they won't have a problem.... i don't clean them or anything before i store them, i just clean them in the spring, i donno if it makes a difference or not, but yeah i've never had a problem.

Is it ok if I store my rim + tires outside in my shed in the backyard?

It's got a tiny little door though, so it's ok. People would think there's just a lawn mower or some other crap inside... unless you tell them otherwise!

nods, it'd be a hassle not only to find mine but to get at them, the farthest possible place from the door and the hardest to get at... if they see them on your car they know you have them..
