stolen motor

how would u know if a motor was stolen
and what would be the charge if u got caught with a stolen motor in ur car let me know thanks

run the #'s thru the DMV and if you get caught it will be taken away from you and you could be charged

most motors don't have vin's on em anymore ...especially if its a stolen one...

How do you know if the papers are faked? How do you tell. Just so people dont get burned with bad papers

The VIN is not stamped on the motor.
There is a block serial number stamped on a flat surface on the upper front of the motor.

This is a little inconvenient, because you can't just run a carfax on the motor yourself. You've got to call the police and ask them to verify the number for you.

if you got fake papers i doubt they wouldpunish you, they would most likely go after the one you bought it from, because for all you know its legit, youjust say he gave you these papers sayin it is legit and if they are fake or not, you should be good to go

number stamped on motor can only be matched by honda/acura only if you have the corresponding vin#

so in other words. a stolen motor is not traceable at all.

now keep in mind that the vin# can be located on the tranny, but thats usally a sticker you can remove.



so if your getting a good deal buy it.

not true!!! there is a vin plate much like the one that is in the left bottom of your windshield....it is on the backside of the block near the oil filter...

AHHHH but did u guys know............. i was cleaning my pistons today and i polished of this gunk located beside the 4th piston and what did i see!! a # stamped on the block!! To see this u have to pull off your head!
