Depending on the rim, the outside diameter of the hub-centric ring will range from 72-75mm (measure your rim), I don't remember the inside diameter u need, but they'll know at PI. Good luck
yeah thats what I meant.. Hub-centric ring..

Honda is 56.1 MM I believe.

I'll check out performance improvements. From a few places I've called, they said the rims are obsolete and they didn't have anything to match it.

Your going into so much detail and checking everything on your tires and rims, it's doubtful that they are the problem if you never solved it by now.

You say engine mounts "seem" fine, but how did you check them. Bad inserts, caracked or twisted mount can all cause those problems. Not sure what motor and what car but did you get the "cut and weld" or a cheap aftermarket mount?

Stock original mounts on a stock motor. 90 si.

I find it hard to believe that mounts would cause this problem since the problem occurs @ certain speeds and not certain rpms.

Aside from a visual inspection, The engine does not have any shakes.

I couldn't find hun centering rings too at performance improvements so i didn't use it, and i still get no vibrations. The guy told me the hub center rings is use to look good, but i'm not sure about that though. But i doubt this will cause the vibration. Your front end is all tight rite? Then it's got to be a rim or tire. Most likely high and low spots maybe. Take it to any Active green & ross. They can help u. They are Pro in tires. I use to work there, but i just quit so yeah. They can find out the problems for u, say if u don't find the problem then u can't charge. Simple as that.

I'm gonna go with the lower ball joints or hub bearings. I have the same car but with a B16 in it. I had HUGE vibration in my front end. Half the problem was the axles were too long from my swap (Ford axles, don't ask). After the axles I changed the rotors. The drivers side caliper was getting stuck on and wouldn't retract so it cooked my rotor into a wobbly mess. Replaced rotors, pads (can get warped from warped rotors) and caliper and smooth as glass somewhat. Now at above 80 I get a slight vibration and I think it's either my passenger side lower ball joint cause it's gotta tore boot and the car pulls a lil to the right OR its my drivers side bearing. The hub assy. was getting super hot from that ceased caliper so I may have cooked the grease outta it. There's not much play, so I'm leaning towards the ball joint.

There's always gonna be a lil bit of vibration. If you got low profile tires and no powersteering then it's not really buffered and you're gonna notice it. When I pop on the snowtires most of it goes away.

ROFL. I'm truly amased at how many ppl read the first post then just restated the things you cleared off your list in that very first post.

But truly you do have a problem. And I have a solution. I know a mechanic. He does my work now. He hires these 2 guys to work for him and they have done up civics. So I trust them to work on mine, seeing as they are licenced mech.s and know how we civic drivers are. And no they aren't on this forum.

If you wana go in with my and have them have a look they could probably tell you what it is.

PM me if your interested. I don't think I'd run by this thread again.

too much of toe in

is it possible of car car being too low and has a toe in to it wouldn't that cause the shaking durring acceleration?

imported_nletourneau1 30-May-2005 07:00 PM

try taking off the front wheels and drive the car on stands up to 100km/h. hit the brakes and see if it shakes. If it does than the rotors are warped and need to be machined or replaced. If there is no vibration then the problem is in the tires or the (highly unlikely) suspension.

winner007, hub centric rings are used to look good? You can't even see them, as they are sit between your wheel and your hub.
