SRI problem...

I have a d16z6 in a 91 hatch... I've had an K&N filter on the end of my stock intake tubing for the longest time so I finally got around to installing a proper SRI (Vibrant). Now that it has been installed, my car seems bogged down under 2500rmp, it also vibrates like crazy (lots of cabin noise). THe timing on my engine is +12 I believe. Is it possible that the bigger diamer intake and the fact that my timeng is so advanced that it is causing this to happen?
I'm going to put back my old sytem on the weekend and see if my cars goes back to normal.. any suggestions?

well I don't know about the timing issue.. but I can't imagine a slightly larger tube changing anything really..

If your not getting enough air.. your car will bogg.. so make sure everything is clean.

Also.. when you had your old system did you have that airbox on the bottom (resantor? is that what it's called) if you removed that.. the bottom end will feel weak and powerless, maybe that is what your feeling?

And the vibrating might be from the intake tube hitting something in your bay.

no.. the box wasnt there.. i know there is vibration but I cant figure out why i'm getting the power loss... maybe it's in my head because of all the noise...
I get mad vibration when accelerating in first and second (under 2500rpm)

The install should have been clean seeing how Joe@Altech threw it in for me while I was having some suspension work done..

stock timing on that engine is 16 degrees BTDC...so if its at 12 degrees it would be retarded not advanced. And with too retarded of base ignition timing will make the car feel slow, especially in the lower rpms.
