Sri/cai

Can a Short Ram intake be converted into a CAI? How much work is involved? If I have a raactive short ram intake, and if I wanted a CAI. Would I have to sell it or can i buy an attachment pipe to make it a CAI?

I bought an AEM CAI and then I bought a air bypass valve and I had to cut the pipe to put in the bypass valve. now if I take out the bypass valve and the extra peice of piping after the valve and put the filter at the end of the pipe where the bypass would connect then I have a SRI... which is what I'm currently doing this winter..

I meant the other way around, if I had a generic short ram could I go the other way to a CAI?

I did the same.

But to answer the question: yes, it can be done. I believe Ractive or one of those other low-end companies made a kit for their SRI. What have you got for a short ram?

Vibrant also sells separate pieces to convert a SRI into a CAI. The pieces come in sections of various lengths/diameters, in 45 and 90 angles to make your own.

comtech makes the ICE BOX which uses a PVC to completely cover up the filter on the SRI and has a plastic pipe that drives cold air from down low into the filter.
It also does not absorb any water.
I'm not sure if it'll work with other SRI's other then comtech.

Tenzo R makes an attachment to add on to their existing sri

you can even DIY it.
just get some aluminum piping and get it bent.
then use some hose with clamps and conect the two.

How much would the attachment be for lets say an aem short ram? And if I buy the aluminum piping would i have to buy heat resistent paint and then by that time it would be a DIY intake CAI. So how much would the total cost be for the attachement with bending and clamps and all? Has anyone done this that would be willing to help in the spring?

thanks
