Angry Squeeky Suspension driving me crazy

Okay - my wife's 99 Civic EX (Si sedan for you Americans) has this annoying squeek in the suspension.

The car has 70,000 KM (what's that, about 45,000 miles - roughly)
It's been babied since birth - only performance upgrades is a Short Ram intake and cat-back exhaust

The squeek has slowly been getting worse for the past 3 months.

At first - it was noticeable when my fat-bastard-of-an-*** would get out
now - it's noticeable going over a bump

I'm thinking springs....but then I was told Struts....now thinking it might also be ball joints/bushings.

My main question is "what the hell could it be?"
I mean - the suspension only has 70,000km on it - could the fact that it is 6 years old now be a problem?

Thanks in advance!

Where exactly is this squeak located? Front, rear, a certain side? Under what driving conditions?

i think your going to need to drive onto ramps and get another fat *** to get in and out and crawl underneith.

just a suggestion; sway bar bushings.

try and squirt some wd40 or other penetrating oil into where you suspect squeekage and if it goes away, theres the problem. It probobly wont go away for very long though so actually fix the problem.

yeah, the bushings can dry out and require some lube. in your case, I would take the helms manual, and in there they have diagrams of all the greasable point. I'd re-lube all those points and that should 1. solve your problem, and 2. increase the longevity of your suspension.

there are no nipples you gotta take the susp apart there and grease those bushings

yea i think mine also happening at the back. especially when coming out of a plaza or something with down steeping.
it seems like the sound comes out when you really need to use the rear susp.
does this mean i need to take the whole rear susp out and grease those bushings?

EDIT
i don't think it's the shocks cause i just started using it for about 2-3 months top. (although i've hit some bad holes)
or could it be?

if it's the front it could be blow shocks from the wife "mistakenly" hitting a massive pothole and not telling you or toasted ball joint. Just take it in or jack it up and start turning the wheel checking ball joints shocks tie rods bushings etc...

yes I had that problem with my 95 hatch... you need to lubricate the bushings... no big deal.

Ball Joints Replace the lower and upper ball joint and the squeek will go away....

I had a squeek in my race car replaced the lower ball joint (uppers had just been done) and presto went away.

you have to look at whats happening when you get into the car. more weight is placed ont he suspension and it moves this movement if the ball joints are worn will cause them to squeek...

this of course is only my experience
