squeeky steering

on my 94 Civic si i hear a squeeky sound coming from my steering wheel. so i figure its the low ball joints but i cant hear any noise coming from them it just seems to be right at the steering wheel..

also its seems like its hard to steer. well i can still palm it fine but like it just seems a little stiff. maybe this is related. any ideas?

thanks for looking

some hondas have problems with i believe a washer wearing out in the column. But I doubt thats it.

Does it only squeek when you turn it a certain way?

stupid question but how can i check to see if i have power steering...i literately just bought the car a week ago and it just seems to hard to steer if it has power steering...also if i have low power steering fluid would that cause the squeak ?

pop the hood and if u see a small pump running off a belt in the right corner of the engine then thats the ps pump
