squeaky noise help!

hey guys, i just got my typee droped in my ek about 2 months ago, i just recently started to hear this annoying squeaking noise. its not when i idle but when i accelerate and also just let the car wind down on its own. i got the timing belt replaced and im wondering if its the pulley. all its running is the alternator but the pulley looks pretty rusted and i cant really tell if the belt is in **** shape. could this be it?

use a stethoscope and put it on the alternator.. see if thats the noise.

sounds like the alternator belt to me, replace it with a OEM honda one and you'll be fine

and to kieran.. i've never seen a bad honda OEM belt. I dont get why you're recommending to replace the belt, without even telling him how to check it..

rule of thumb is if you see a crack every inch or so, replace it. But pullies go out before belts on honda's.

im sorry, i thought you were being sarcastic. so i should look at the pulley belt 1st?

No..

do what I said in the first post. And if you dont know how to check it, you shouldnt be checking it in the first place. (no offense)

reason i recomend replacing the belt is because ive seen brand new aftermarket belts squeal. I would much rather replace a 10 dollar belt first, see if it still squeals or not, and then replace the alternator if it needs it.
