Squeaking sound from suspension
Hi Folks
I hear this squeaking sound from the right rear side of my 99 EK sedan every time i go over a bump or an uneven surface.
Its not a grinding noise but rather a squeak or a clicking type of sound which last for a few seconds. It is most noticeable when i drive up the ramp from the parking garage of the apartment, going over a speed bump or when turning left or right over a bump or an uneven surface of the road.
I also noticed that it sounds less if i go over a bump driving straight but is clearly audible when turning or climbing.
I am suspecting it may be LCA bushing or the ball joint. This has been happening for quiet a while now and i want to get it fixed.
My suspension, wheels, tires have been totally stock. I did had a minor accident earlier this year. A car bumped me in the rear right side but im not sure if that is the reason....all repairs were done at Honda and they did not report anything to me. I am not sure if the accident was the reason or is it just wear at almost 100K on the motor.
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK...ANY IDEA WHAT IT MIGHT BE????

search on the forums bro, I had the same issue.
I went and saw scott newman.
My bushing was simply rubbing everytime I go over a bump, he said I need to get my upper control arms replaced...but its not something like a safety issue, its just annoying.
So Ive decided not to fix it yet..just drive slow ...and if the sound really bothers me...I can turn up the 12's lol.
Its not the accident, its just wear n tear. I'd suggest getting it looked over by a mechanic n letting them drive the car. You prob have the same prob as be but since u hear clicking also it could be your ball joint too.
Get it checked soon tho cuz **** like this can cost you alot if u dont figure it out on time.
Good luck.

i have been reading the chilton manual today regarding the problem and it suggests to check the following three areas:
a) check ball joints for wear, damaged or leaking boots
b) check for seized or deterioted bushings. Replace if necessary and check vehicle for alignment
c) check for the presence of sway bar bushings which wrap arond the bar. Inspect the condition of the bushings and replace if needed. Remove the bushing bracket and apply a thin layer of suspension grease to the area where bushings wrap around the bar and reinstall the bushing brackets.

Ok guys...i was able to get underneath the rear last night. Im no expert at this but i visually inspected the area..the bushings specially. I took some pics which are linked below. I found lots and lots of rust everywhere...but i couldnt figure out how to identify anything that might have been screwed.
The LCA bushing was hard to touch. I couldnt locate the ball joint but the pic is attachd where it is usually located.
Any comments??????
