springshock question

springshock question

how would i tell if a shock is blown or not? like if i was going to buy shocks used how could i tell? if what i was buying wasnt s bad as what i have now?

do a visual then compress it and it should pop back up, buying used shocks isn't the best idea in my opinion

check to see the condition of it, inspect it, make sure its not leaking anything

Push the shock into the ground and see how long it takes to extend back out. Repeat on all shocks. My blown STOCK shock didnt move once it was compressed.

what if the shock is still on the car? i need to find out if its blown in order to go buy another set

if they are installed in the car, press down and bounce the vehicle, upon release of the pressing down, the suspension should rebound, if it rebounds up, and then stops and is stable the shock typically is fine, if it rebounds up and bounces a buncha times, the shock is toast, repeat at all four corners
