Spark Plugs

Hey,
Just wondering what brand/kind of spark plugs you all recommend?!?!

szuberi 11-Apr-2008 04:12 PM

NGK v power in case of most civics

zeeman 11-Apr-2008 05:50 PM

yup NGK v-power plugs are what i recommend.

RedNeckRiceBurner 11-Apr-2008 08:58 PM

yup untill you need to do the e-test then run champions. i ran the ngks car didnt pass ran champions car passed lol then switched back hehehe

LEITNER 12-Apr-2008 06:42 AM

little known fact...ac delco is the inside scoop.

zeeman 12-Apr-2008 07:49 AM

how do you feel about autolites in hondas steve?
They've got cheapie copper cores like the v-powers, but are even cheaper.

Cynikal.Mindset 12-Apr-2008 08:46 AM

autolites are so cheap...man, I dont even trust them in anything

k_r_a_c_k_e_r 12-Apr-2008 09:40 AM

NGK v-power

RedNeckRiceBurner 12-Apr-2008 10:41 AM

ive never even heard of autolites, another plug i dont like is AC delco had them in my 350chev they didnt last long(cracking) i havent had any problems with ngks or bosh

chris_v2 12-Apr-2008 11:02 AM

porcelains crack all the time on autolite's. I've seen cases where we put new plugs in a car, 2 weeks later it comes back with a mis and it was caused by a faulty plugs. I hate auto lites.. they are more pos than italfag

zeeman 12-Apr-2008 06:59 PM

i've never personally used them, but guy i know who's pretty big into hondas (had some serious turbo setups) said he's swears by autolites.
I'll stick with my NGK v-powers, they've yet to fail me on any car i've used them on.

EKPunker 12-Apr-2008 08:10 PM

I run Bosch Platinum +4's in my '97 DX coupe.

zeeman 12-Apr-2008 10:32 PM

what you paid for 1 set of spark plugs, buys like 3 sets of the NGK v-powers, and the NGKs are better plugs IMO.

si_ponz 12-Apr-2008 11:09 PM

U can just get these NGK v-power ones at CT? which ones should i use in a d16z6 head? i shall pick some up this week

zeeman 12-Apr-2008 11:14 PM

i use BKR6E-11's in pretty much any honda. But i'm pretty sure thats the exact plug called for on the d16z6. If not, grab em anyways, i've used them on plenty of Z6's.

si_ponz 13-Apr-2008 12:31 AM

thanks zeeman

LEITNER 13-Apr-2008 03:13 AM

i used a special order ngk plug...but i have been out of the game for so long i dont remember the number...they were a race plug platinum if i do remember right. they were sourced by their race department. worked nice in my 2.0

zeeman 13-Apr-2008 09:47 AM

on the boosted cars and higher WHP n/a cars i've had good sucess with the v-power race plugs (#R5671A-7, -8 and -9's) but i've yet been able to find anyone that can get these for me locally, so i picked up a bunch of them last time i was in the states.
But for the rest of the cars i do, the BKR6E-11 and BKR7E-11's work good as well.

sWiFtY~ 30-Apr-2008 09:18 PM

just put the ngk-v powers in my civic, always used then in all my civics. never had a problem.
also i just bought the car with blown head gasket and dirty as **** oil, basically wasn't tooooo maintained (missed out on the little stuff i guess).

anywho swapped in a new head gasket , formula one synthetic oil 10w30, ngk v powers and she past with flying colors. also that swith the quarter tank of fuel i pick the car up with. so i dunno about your little theory about failing etests lol.
