Spark Plug Wires? What are u guys using/ recommend?

Hey guys...

im due for a new set of Spark Plug Wires, and i was wondering whether or not i should stick with OEM Wires. Sooo far i've been looking @ NGK Blues or MSD Wires, if there are any others u guys can recommend that would be great.

For a D15 motor, OEM or AFTERMARKET is good enough.

I got a set of universal 6 cylinder Accel wires and used them for my wires and one for the coil wire, so I have one left over.Check ebay I got my set for $38 CDN shipped.

imported_kIeRaN 06-May-2005 10:08 PM

yeah, i have NGK here too, no problems with em ;)

Trust me ngk's fit like a glove in all aspects, will outlast the majority of aftermarket wires out there and have the highest silicone content.

Thats a pretty general and useless response considering the fact that the only parts markets in existence are eithert oem or aftermarket.

Not worth it. There will be no difference. Only difference is one says NGK and the other says MSD. Unless you'd like to pay extra cash for that name.
Stick with NGK plugs and wires.

There all good. My dad talked to the President of Nology at the Sema show. He said they cut apart every brand to see how good the competition is. There results? There all relativly good. He even mentioned how CDN tire brand Niehoff's have good quality connections in them. But He said TAYLOR WIRE'S ****ING SUCK!!!!!!!! Stay away from them. This is coming from the President of Nology. He said Cheap CDN tire brand Niehoff's are better made than cheap assed taylor's. Taylor's have good quality components but are assembled poorly. There not worth the Money. NGK's and MSD's or Nology is what Id recomend. And stay away from Platinum plugs as well. They suck too. Hard on teh car during cold starts. If you don't want to pay for irridium or Silver than Just get plain jane copper. Copper is very conductive and has a nice hot spark. Alot of race teams jsut use $2 NGK copper's and throw them away after 1 or 2 race's. they work that good.No matter what people tell you Platinum's are designed for longevity, not performance. Stay away from them.

nice didn't kno that.. i'mgonna go with NGK but they are $90 from the dealer .. i'm due to do mine.. i did the rotor but that cap should still be done can't find it for pr3 though

and honda recommends only platinum on my car retai lis $20 per plug

Honda wires all the way.
I've seen a dyno comparison of honda vs MSD vs Taylor (or some other brand, i can't remember) spark plug wires. The Honda wires had the smoothest hp and tq lines, the msd and ngk hp and tq lines were rather choppy and inconsistent.

MSD here, but that is with a full msd setup tho
