i dont know about the 7th gen's much but every other gen requires 5w30.

and does it blink 10 times fast or 10 times fast and slow?
without it you cant tell what the problem is.

Sounds like you forgot to reset the maintainance counter thingy. Just press & hold the odometer reset button before you turn on your car, turn the ignition to prestart and wait until the maint. required light stops blinking and then let go of the button.

It's a just a preset mileage reminder that goes off every 5000 km I think, just a reminder to change your oil.

once and awhile it will come on for a trouble code too, if it comes back on after u reset it, take it somewhere and get them to throw a scanner on it, unless u have an obd 2 scanner

There is nothing wrong with your car. Just reset the light. U press on the reset light and hold it for 10 sec and then put the key in the ignition on the on position. Once the light shuts off then start the car to see if it comes back on. The ecu calculates the mileage u put on your car and just tells u to do a oil change or a maintenance or so... As for the oil it say 5w-20. U are use 5w-30 and it will do no harm to the engine. Some places will tell u that u should only use 5w-20 but my boss told me it is the samething and we use it to all the jap cars and nothing happens. They just want more $$$ from u if u buy the 5w-20 that's all because u buy it in 1L separate.

5W30 is thicker oil so in a high reving car over time MAY cause damage, but i think waiting for an oil change thats over 2000 kms is worse
