sockets needed for strut swap
im going to princess auto tomorrow to pickup a torque wrench
im either gonna get a 3/8" drive and just use the sockets i have now (non-deep) or a 1/2" drive and pickup some sockets
what sockets do i need for the suspension?
im pretty sure its just 12 mm and 10 mm, but should i get deep or just normal sockets?
also, do i need a breaker bar (twisty head) for suspension install (my stuff is NOT seized..).. and once again, should i go 3/8" (and save on cash cause i got the sockets) or start building a 1/2" drive set?

Go to Crappy Tire and buy one of their econo sets. (you don't need the Profesional series). Lifetime warrenty, and Canadian Tire is EVERYWHERE if you need to replace a broken socket or wrench. (and you'll also get crappy tire money back too)
Keep an eye out for their sales.....you can get a big socket set for 50% or more sometimes. They also have the bars you need too.

Ya their sales are However, their econo sets are NOT guaranteed for life... ONLY the pro series is! I know cuz I split open a 17mm socket (it split along the seams on each of the hexagon corners), and they wouldn't replace it.
Another reason to get Pro series is that with rusted and mis-shaped bolts, you won't round them as easily. Good tools are priceless.... try a good tool and you won't wanna go back I swear to you!

so.. should i get a 1/2" drive set?
cause i got the 3/8" drive set already, from 8 mm - 18 mm (reg, not deep).
i know the difference between 1/2" and 3/8" is the size of the drive piece, but does it allow more torque or something? because if not, then ill just stick to my 3/8" metric sockets and save some cash

Well, I do it all with a 3/8 drive, and it does the job, but if your car has seized up bolts, maybe you should get an electic impact from Home Depot. The biggest you need for your susp is 19, but for just a strut swap you only need up to 17mm. You DO need a 14 deep for the upper strut top bolts, but if you have a wrech that'll work too. Else, go buy a set of pass-through sockets, those are hella handy. The bolt can pass right through the head of the rachet.
