only for a few seconds when i first throw it into reverse or 1st after leaving it parked for a bit...

not sure, but im hoping it's not a tranny issue.

i did synthetic tranny fluid and lucas tranny honey.... no dif...

any suggestions?

I have the same problem. It's tranny related for sure. It's kind of a whizzing sound like something spinning. My old civic had the same prob but never broke down.

your throwout bearing is most likely toast. Pick up an ebay exedy clutch kit with a new pilot and throwout bearing. MANY Hondas have this problem... two of my buddies with Del Sols both have this same problem, and they are both on their second trannies.

Yep, same problem I had, started with that sound in first and in neutral, then it graduated to a load grinding sound when I accelerated in first and second. Had my tranny changed to a LSD back in June along with the clutch and according to Steve at Leitner, my Tranny was finished.

I had that same sound when shifting in reverse. I took it to honda and they fixed it under warranty... they said it was common.

hrm

how long can it go like this before damage happens.

cuz if the tranny is gone, usually it's just as cheap to get a new engine...

i did lucas tranny treatment and synth tranny fluid, and switched to sonoco 94..it seems to have eased up a bit...
