Skunk2 studs

anyone looking to ever do the swap....

DON'T

of anything i've ever done to my car this had to be the most costly/near irreversable mistake

all 16 studs were professionally installed..
no cross-splining and a perfect fit (as per the Skunk2 site..direct replacement)
4 rims in need of repair.. (or replace at $550+ per)

don't wanna go in to detail..just throwing out a warning to anyone considering it...

hope Carcone's can cut me a deal

Yup have fun getting warrenty that's why I hate buying from the states or e-bay. I would much rather pay a little bit more money at a shop that offers a good warrenty. It gives me the peice of mind when something goes wrong, it's a lot better to pay 20 or 30 bucks more then to have to replace a 100 dollar part.

ARP studs..
aren't those the ones recommended for the Ford bb??

ya, warranty is outta the question..wouldn't even wanna waste my time trying to eke anything out of them for this.. tho i'll spend my last breath letting people know their stuff is CRAP

and it's not a supplier thing so i'm not gonna chase down the guy that sold them to me (he's kinda funny lookin' but he's a cool shyt all the same )

still waiting for a reply from Carcone's about a quote..
will keep everyone updated (thanx for the concerns guys, and i'm glad i had a chance to warn anyone looking at doing this mod)

if they can't handle the quality issues in something as simple as a stud bolt why would i trust them with anything even remotely more complex..

yeah... really makes you wonder about putting in skunk2 valve springs or something like that.

and Marty, I believe the Honda ARP studs are the same as the GM F-body studs off the Camaro etc. Like a bloody ****** with GM parts

apparently now they have a Honda application at ARP for wheel studs. I'm still tempted... but I dread the installation.

bb..

install ain't that bad..
pull hub and bash out old studs..
install new studs and press or hammer in..just be sure splines remain straight..
have heard of nothing shytty regarding ARP..

tho, if you can resist the mod all together, do so..

Steve..
has been a while pal.. (since the COW show)
hope all is well!!

I just want them so when I'm illegally racing through downtown Toronto and cabbies get in my way I can downshift into secret VTEC on my dx motor and mash my wheels into the tires of the cabbie so my supa-dupa studs cut his tires up good, learn him a lesson or two, then I hit up mah NOS button and flames come out my dual exhaust bumper and roast the bicycle courier that was tryin to front. VRRROOOOM

haha... no really... stock studs were meant for steelies, which are like... 3-4 mm thick, whereas with aftermarket wheels are like 20 mm thick, so that takes away a lot of thread contact. plus at the track, they require that your lugs make... what was it... 1.5 times the width of the stud (M12) of contact.
