SIR swap...What od I need?

Hey peeps,

Over this coming winter I'm going to get everything ready for my SIR engine swap. My 92 DX just isn't pushing it anymore :P. I'm curious as to what I'll need parts wise and if possible how much I should pay for these kinda things...

Ez

not much.. engine tranny.. axels i think.. ecu.. your stock mounjts will fit... but i believe you need one from a DA .. i would suggest doing some reg maintanence like timing belt, waterpump while its out.. its much easier.. its pretty much bolt in easy to do

Do you have any box in the trunk? Are you ridding on 18 inch wheels? Do you have full interior?

D series can make power, it is a known fact. Not telling you not to swap, but if you have done everything you can and still not satisfied, go right ahead

As for B16A engine swap, do a quick search and answers will pop right up. Good luck.

the turbo doesn't "fit" a motor... the manifold fits the engine and turbo physically. as for sizing, I recommend a T3 or T3/T4 setup. I guess a 14b or 16g would also be decent sizes to use, even TD04 turbos. Given that you have no clue, you should prolly try to find a used turbo kit on honda-tech though, or buy a new kit.

Brand new? Be ready to dish out anywhere from 2G and above. For first time user, read Honda-Tech, Homemadeturbo, and How Stuff Works - Turbo (search for it).

Get the basic knowledge on how turbo works, then find the pieces and have a shop put it together for you.

A decent new turbo kit runs for between $4000-$6000. You can prolly find a used one for 1/2 the price... anything cheaper is way too cheap and you should stay away from it.

I don't think you have the knowledge to build one yourself, so you have two options... get the money, or get the knowledge.
