are si/zc tansmissions stronger than others?

i'm looking for a tranny that will help with milage...however also something that's a little stronger...i was under the impression that the Si transmissions were built with either more syncro's on the first couple of gears or soemthing...? anyone?

all honda manual transmissions have the same amount of synchromesh devices. you will have the 1-2 synchromesh, 3-4, and 5.
Never heard of the Si/ZC tranny being stronger then others, unless they used some kind of coating for gears and synchromesh but I don't think they would.
Si transmissions compared to the regular d-series manual tranny, they will differ on the gear ratios, and the final drive. For example, the final drive is probobly lower for the si transmission compared to the normal model cx trannys for acceleration purpose but killing a bit of top end(not that it matters).
the only other thing would be the gear ratios for the length you are in gear for, they are also probobly shorter then a regular d-series tranny.

check this out, this guy on honda-tech b18c5-eh2(tom) put together a wicked hybrid transmission for his d-series

close gear ratios and a nice si final drive
