Should 205/40/R16 Be Good For A EK Hatch?
I know the recommended size is 205/45/R16 for my hatchback but I was wondering if a 40 series tire should be ok for my hatch. Any inputs would be greatly appreciated it.
Thanks, Fred |
isn't recommended 185 for EKs?
I have a 99 hatch and thats what it says on the inside of my door... |
Yes 40 series will be okay, BUT, you will feel bumps more.
I had 40 and 45 series on my eg, I prefer the 45 series. |
I dont' see why not :shrugs:

Tego, the tire calculator tells me that the 205/40/16 tires will be 4.5% too fast, meaning you will have precisely 39.9 more tire rotations per mile over your stock wheel/tire combo. You may be able to fit 215/40/16 on there. http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp |

that's a good link |
i'd go 205/45/16 for the extra protection against potholes. 45 profile looks better on hondas imo. 40 is just too thin and one day when you don't see a pothole and run over it, you'll put a huge dent into ur rim. im even scared to hit potholes on my 50 profile tires, it scares the crap out of me.

yea i have 40 for ek and its really bumpy. but looks sick tho :)

naw, i've unknowinly hit many pot holes with my 40 series tires, havent dammaged my rims yet.. but it is true that the 45's are alot less bumpy... no doubt... but the 40's in my opinion look soo much better... in my opinion its a toss up.

Got tired of your 17? :D hehe

I ran 205/40/16 on my car for like a month, it looked great but I hated the ride and the tires were ****ty.... and the car was way too low (cuz I had to lower it more to close the wheel gap, plus the smaller tires dropped the whole car closer to the ground too). good look, terrible usability.
