Short Shifter problem??
I have a TWM Classic short shifter which I installed the other day along with some Energy Suspension bushings (black)
I seem to have a problem though.. it seems that the sifter is loose, even if it's in gear. When you move it left to right its like your in neutral but its in first gear (for example)
I got under the car again tonight to see if I had any loose bolts, ect.. but I couldnt find anything wrong.
Anyone have any ideas?

its probably the front most bushing... mine used to be like that... then i put in a new front bushing and it was all fixed... although if you just put in new bushings then something isn't tightened properly... or incorrect part like bruno said

the way to trace shifter slop is to have one guy under the car and another reaching in the car and gently shaking the shifter back and forth, just enough to determine where the slop is. The person underneath watches it all and follows the process from the rod itself to the tranny. The problem will become evident. There are so many flexible joints in there that it's hard to say which one is at fault.

Check the joint at the bottom of the shifter where it connects to the shift linkage.
There should be no clearance on either side of the shifter where it sits in the "fork" of the shift linkage. Lots of shifters come with copper crush washers that need to be installed on each side of the shifter in this joint to eliminate any clearance. If they aren't installed, or there is any kind of play (the bolt isn't tightened to really clamp on the shifter), the shifter will just slide side-to-side inside this joint instead of moving and twisting the linkage, resulting in a lot of sideways play.
