and don't forget to remove the shift **** :P.

I made my own short shifter from a stock one.

what parts would be good to replace when installing a short shifter? I am thinking of picking up the ES shift stabilizer kit but im not sure what other parts i should replace....OEM or aftermarket.

did you make the bottom part past the ball longer??? because if you just cut the top, its not really a short shifter.....

I concur.

If you cut the top and re-thread it.... it's just a shorter bar. A short shifter can be just as tall as a stock shifter but the key is that the THROW is much shorter.

cuttin the top of a shifter does shorten the throw...but in turn you lose your leverage...which makes shifting a *****

I did. A aftermarket one went for about 50shipped from the states for a B&M.

I just added about a 1.5" to the bottom piece. Just a piece of steel bar and bam, $5 short shifter.
