short shifter
 

wat is the best short shifter? B&M? any suggestion? its for a ITR! thx

b&m make good SS.

depends on your budget though.

I don't know what short shifter I got in my car but I was told it was a Solo but i can't find it anymore on the net...anywho best damn thing in my car.

I use B&M Race Version SS, straight and the construction is very nice.

I am selling it, it has the proper teflon bushing for ITR (Integras in general).

well i have i think a skunk 2 short shift in my old car, i like it, but i want to know wat else you guys have tried and would recommend?

skunk 2 are just damn overpriced...the b&m is the best bang for the buck...solid stainless construction available straight or with integra dual bend

I also had a Skunk2 in my old Civic and I loved it. The good one's all do the same sheit really, so I think it's more personal taste. Just get one that is steel becuase the chances of it breaking are slimmer then an aluminum one.

B&M is the way to go, ya, I don't want to be a pusher, but I have one for sale haha

Honestly, I had a cheap one before B&M and it was hitting the exhaust pipe and the bushing was bad quality. B&M solved all that issues and no problem whatsoever.

Just to prove how good B&M is, I called and asked for another set of bushings (give them my receipt number) and they sent me the teflon bushings for free. That's great services.

B&M shifters are very cheap. With the classic 30% off at Lordco, it can be had for around 50-60 bucks. I find them to be very notchy. They almost shorten the throws too much causing the shifting to be not as smooth as with other shifters...

If I had to recommend one over the others, it would be the Skunk2. It is made with the same materials as OEM shifter so it wont break and seams to have the perfect throw. One thing which to some is a draw back, is that Skunk2 shifters dont give the shifter a "lower" stance. I personally like this because it makes the shifter sit in a perfect reachable position.

DC shifters have a good design but are made with aluminum which is commonly known to snap. The materials just dont last over time... this being the number one reason I would reccomend Skunk2!

has anybody ever tried a TWM short shifter? I used to have one in my celica but am not debating which to go with for the civic.

Im thinkin of getting the TWM again for the civic but just wondering if anyone has heard anything about it?

Yeah I have heard of them... they come with a lifetime guarantee so apparently they can be replaced if they break. They are made of billet aluminums so having it break could be a possibility. Its nice to know that they back up their products with the lifetime guarantee... plus they offer different stages with different throw reductions and height reductions!


altho they are more expensive then a lot of other shifters on the market.


Basically, I'd say that if you have a good history with your last one then why not go with what you know!

Regular single bend you are looking at under 100 new. B&M Race is more than that.

Do you guys think that B&M race version short shift #45074 is worth the price? like i could get B&M # 45075 for the 100 cheaper, and both of them are straight no bend, so is it really worth the 100 extra?? I have already bought energy suspension bushing for it, just want to know if i should get the race one or the cheaper 1

Both are same concept

if its just a daily driven car, then i would go with the cheaper one no need to spend 100 more if you are just using the car for a daily driven car and not racing

well i will take teh car to the track once in a while, but yea, it is aslo my daily car, but was are teh realy difference between teh 2? i know they are both straight, but any thing more specific?

i got some short shifter thrown in for me when i bought my exedy stage 2 clutch the guy is like here i think its SPW not too sure.. but hey it works fine for a freebee..
