Question SHORT SHIFT PROB...... help

I have a 2000 civic si, i wanted a shifter that would look good and perform. I bought a Hurst quick shifter (do not buy this), its not any shorter than the oem and aint much faster ... but i did put in new bushings and the feel is real nice..

so. i NEED a shifter that is "SHORT" and can perform.. does this exist or should i just chop down the oem shifter ??

Thanks
Phil

PS ANY ONE GOIN TO WASAGA THIS MAY 24 ???

Post Short shift

I can get you a Ractive one for $40.00. Blue, polished, red, yellow. It is shorter than the Hurst. Let me know.

solo is a good brand and much cheaper then DC/Neuspeed/Skunk2.
cutting the length of the arm doesn't make the "shift" itself any better, stick just looks short
its where the ball is place and the distance from the ball to the linkage that matters. you'll need to replace the entire shoft shift if you looking for something that can "perform" better.
if you want you can try getting a teg short shifter, they are interchangeable with civics but requires a different bolt for the linkage, cost an extra $10 bucks. the stick itself sits further away from the dash. less reaching you could say. if i come by the meet you can see it for yourself...

That's true the teg shifter is shorter. The linkage that came with my engine swap had the shorter shifter on it.

ya both combined makes a nice short shift...
too bad B-series linkages don't fit D-series. tranny would be gone after a while if you could but whatever

ok look.. its more of a cosmetic thing... i want a nice small shifter.. not some granny stick.. something that looks dope.. my buddy just cut the top of his oem .. but i dont want to mess with those parts.. spent 100 bucks on a shifter and i like the bushings more.. but its all good... ill just go oot on sat. and see what i can find..
