Short Ram Vs. CAI

Short Ram Vs. CAI

Anyone have dynos? Theres lots of debates on the net about them, one saying short ram = more hp gain and less torque loss, while others say CAI = more hp up top but less gain down below.

Lots of statements of "the short ram sucks in hot air from the engine bay" while this may be true, these test were done on a dyno, where there was not enough air to circulate in the engine bay to recuce the ambient temp.

So Im wondering, on the street, would it make that big of a diff? Has anyone ever stuck a temp probe in the short ram filter, and int he cai filter and measure ambient temps while driving along to disprove this theory?

Anyone add any input on this? Not "CAI is better, dont be cheap" but some thoughtful input and dynos graphs of each one.

hey loudsubz, i can go dyno my SRI and than dyno after i put in my CAI, but that would be funds :P
and i have a generic SRI, with K&N, but its pretty dirty, just cleaned it now.
but than it'll be a little off, since the generic's filter would be kinda dirty and the CAI would be cleaner.
but i wouldn' tmind doing this, cuz i always wanted to know what give you more gains.

I saw an article somewhere that said the SRI is better then the CAI in the high RPM range, but the CAI is better in the lower RPM range.... I can't find it again...
