Inspect the body.. Check the seams and make everything is evenly spaced out.

IE - the space between the HOOD and the side fenders should be even throughout. Space between door and fender.

Look closely at the rubber mouldings, if has been repainted, it's VERY hard to not get even a little bit of paint on it.

As for engine not much you can tell just by driving it. Just drive the car, give it a couple of good higher rpm shifts to check the tranny for grinds. Older integras were notorious for 3rd gear grind.

In a parking lot, go in a circle with the wheel turned completely and accelerate. If you hear clicking then drive shafts are probably going. Left and clicking = passenger side shaft. Right and clicking = driver side. If one is REALLY bad, then it'll click no matter which way you turn. KEY is to press the gas, just rolling isn't gonna help.

Make sure the car has oil and coolant. Check the Coolant resivoir, should have coolant in there as well.

Do a couple of higher speed hard brakes, see if you get tire shake or pedal pulsing. Usually means warped brakes.

Pull up the hand brake, make sure it's tight.. try to drive the car forward with it up.. Good handbrakes will provide resistance and wouldn't let you move very easily. If not, then you may have one cable out.

TOo many things to write.. hope that helps
