tokico illumina's, koni yellows or reds.
I have illumina's and i love them.

nastradamus 23-Jan-2006 11:13 AM

i was reading up on what you said, how are TOKICO HP SHOCKS?

zeeman 23-Jan-2006 11:16 AM

you mean tokico blues?
From the cars i've ridden in with the blue's i wouldn't buy them. They are a very firm shock and not adjustable.
I was less than impressed with the ride quality of the blue's.

nastradamus 23-Jan-2006 11:21 AM

ok, ill have to find some place selling the illumina's.

KYB AGX... i swear by these shocks... best value too and 8 rear and 4 way adjustable front got mine off ebay for 480 cdn, to my door

imported_mugenpowered 23-Jan-2006 06:13 PM

I think the warranty on the tokico blues would be voided by the drop from the h&r race.

SteveZ 24-Jan-2006 12:37 AM

get the yellows

the agx's will be voided with that much of a drop and will eventually blow.

Gunmetalef 24-Jan-2006 12:41 AM

i was going to get teh yellows but i heard they do have a leaking problem sometimes and that after it is FIXED under warrenty they are perfect i ddin't wanna go through the trouble and went with illumina's ride is amazing nice and stiff and adjustable.. i'm also riding h and r race springs handles excellent you will be pleased

Cantonagod 24-Jan-2006 12:44 AM

I been running KYB AGX for 3 years on H&R sport springs and never had a problem. For the money these struts are awesome.

SteveZ 24-Jan-2006 12:56 AM

ive never heard of that prob, i have yellows and even if something dos go wrong, theres always the warranty.

you got lucky with the agx's, some do and some dont. they arent warrantied for that much of a drop so even if they did blow youd be sol. it all depends on the driving conditions. i live in a crappy area so theyd blow instantly over the yellows.

DumbasSi 24-Jan-2006 02:00 AM

I had Koni Reds on my 98. Lowered with H&R Sport springs and driven for almost 3 years on the crappy Hamilton roads. I thought they were a great shock for the money and were problem free. Koni quality and reliability can't be beat.

czeto 24-Jan-2006 08:52 AM

What Mike says is the gospel truth.I'm rockin em right now and I love em. for the price, good deal!

Gunmetalef 24-Jan-2006 10:08 AM

warrenty if something goes wrong.. meaning you have to take it out and send for repairs.... i dont have my stock shocks.. what would i do in that case/

zeeman 24-Jan-2006 12:06 PM

i've had my tokico springs and illumina's on my 95 civic for 2 years now and have had to drive on the same crappy roads in hamilton as dumbasSi and czeto and they've held up great.
I'd have to say that Koni red/yellow's are just as good though.
Don't cheap out on suspension, its what controls how comfortable of a ride your car is.
Cheap suspension gives cheap results. Good suspension gives good results.

maca 24-Jan-2006 03:48 PM

KYB AGX is what ive got, not on H&R but they are good for what you pay for them, i got mine for 460 off ebay.

czeto 24-Jan-2006 05:12 PM

Yeah, I would have got the illuminas, but me budget would not permit. Heard they're really good.

so youre assuming that something will always go wrong? good atitude. there is always a possibility something goes wrong with anything, if it does, take it out, send it in and be with out a car for a week, ride the red rocket, then when you get the part reinstall and your done. also, if you get it done at a shop, they can order one and when it comes in they will install the one and send in the old one; this can also be true for dealing with koni directly.
