Shifting From 3rd to 4th Reccomended Speed

I Drive a 2000 Honda Civic SE, So i guess it'z basically a DX, i don't have a Tach in my car.....and i was just wondering what the recommended speed would be to shift from 3rd to 4th. would i shift at 80km/h?....or just leave it for a while? then shift into 4th?.....i have no clue.....i just wanna see how far it pushes it to redline........well not really....it'z for everday traffic driving, because it would be great if i didn't have to waste gas ...... and just keep it in 3rd the whole way. . .

On the road inn gear 3 usually drive up to around 60km/h then shift to 4th

if your going 80km/h 4 gear is fine.

but gear 3 you can go up to 100km/h

just so you know I have a 2000 se coupe and I can do 100 in 2nd

i also run 120 in 4th .........with room to move .......

don't worry the rev limiter will tell you when you have gone too high

Yes, around 100 km/h in 2nd gear is correct... 3rd is good to 140km/h.

Trust me, you will **** your pants before redline comes LOL j/k but the redline is quite high for an economy car.

I'm confused what are you asking?
do you wanna redline or do you wanna save gas?

I usually shift @ 3k to conserve gas.

1st 0-20
2nd 20-40
3rd 40-60
4th 60-70
then cruise @ 80 on 5th 2k rpm.

Actually, it should be in the owner's manual i believe.
**Do not exceed blah blah blah kph @ on so and so gear**

wow bond the gearing must have changed since my car and your cars were made ...

for the 93 civic

1st to 50KM (then it bounces of the rev)
2nd to 90 km (then it bounces of the rev)
3rd to 120 km (then it bounces of the rev)
4th to 160km (then I gave up trying)
5th to whenever air resistance stops the accleration (I've never hit this got scared at 190km)

Thanks soo much guys......yah cause my car has no tach.....i was just wondering if i was running in the redline area . . .so i guess i'm safe though with the 80km/h in 3rd......cause when i was doing 80 in 3rd it felt like the car was almost at redline.....but now i know i'm safe with doing 80 in 3rd..........

if you want to know where the cut off is rev till you hit it ... hold iit for a bit so that you learn the sound tachs are not needed ears are more important...

(I know your all going bug me about the 5" tach in my car, but I only got that for the shift light I never even look at it during a solo 2 race I just see this bright light from hell and know shift time)

i shift at 2k for everyday driving...the odd time i use the power i have well u know the redline...and its easy to break the limiter

they say i should shift at 74km/h from 5th into 6th for best fuel economy.
