nashall 08-Aug-2005 12:02 AM

is there a way to get rid of it?

Dr.K 08-Aug-2005 01:12 AM

Why?...I love the sound of my car backfiring. and its not hurting anything. Leave it. Give's your car character:thumbup:

Pimpin-EL 08-Aug-2005 01:37 AM

my car does some backfiring, when I let go of the gas at around 5000rpm, could that be something bad?

SteveZ 08-Aug-2005 12:35 PM

a long resonator can decrease the backfiring quite a bit

imported_Torrey 08-Aug-2005 12:43 PM

Mine causes the muffler tip to be burnt black. Some have said to see small flames when im WOT then shifing.

IMO if your car runs slightly rich it isn't THAT bad, preferably better than running lean.

Dr.K 08-Aug-2005 07:23 PM

SteveZ is right,Resonator's do help a lot. I have 2.5" exhuast and an 18" long resonator and I only hear the occasional "pop" at 4000RPM and over. If I didn't have that sucker Id be shooting mad flame's out the Back!!!!!
