Serious Vibration and pulling ... need HELP

Hey guys,

I was driving home lastnight on hwy 7 from brampton and all of a sudden I noticed the that car starts vibrating and pulling off to the right. The vibration only came when in gear and under acceleration.
I stopped at a local gas station to see if there was any visible damage but there was nothing to be seen after turing my wheels each way.
I decided to drive home catiously from there but when I got back into my car the problem seemed to have gone away.

This evening when heading to brampton on hwy 7 the samething occured. The vibration and pulling became more aggressive.
I pulled over and did the same thing as I did lastnight hoping that the problem would go away... and NOTHING.
The problem persisted. So I drove slowly to the nearst gas station and gassed up then went out to check it out because there was more light and still couldn't spot anything.
So I decided to drive off and the problem seemed to have gone away. Later on it came back .... to sum everything up steering wheel vibrates under load and pulls to the right.... alignment ???

Thanks in advance.

might not be...but a loose weel would do that, vibrate aressively and pull to the side thats loose... just saying there a psyco kids out there that do that ****... We had a really bad problem in our town with it.. cops put notices on all the stores doors telling people to check their wheelnuts... a few people almost died from it this summer... in a resteraunt eating, while some little **** is going through the parking lot loosening wheels... pretty crazy eh?

It's all in your head I don't really know, something that is intermittent like that... very hard to diagnose. Was there any noise assocaited with the vibrations and whatnot? The hub nut... the big *** 32 mm nut in the middle of your wheel... is that loose? How is your wheel bearing?

I experience excessive vibrations without pulling in any direction once I go over 120kph.
I know for sure it's not nut problem 'cause I rotated them. Maybe my tires (and yours) need balancing?
It's bad vibrations, like I can create an omelette by fastening it to the steering wheel.. I learned to live with it. I know the car can go faster than 120ish so I'm concluding it's probably something to do with the tires being non-symmetrical somehow.

these are brand new rims with new tires that have just been installed and ballanced ... This is a problem that comes and goes ..... it seems like it comes back whenever i hit potholes.
Only under load is then this happens

ok, but you don't know the person who drove the crap out of that setup before you bought it... anyways, the job is huge as far as I know... it is like a Quaife install, and as such requires a re-shimming of the tranny case. Best bet is to search on Honda-Tech, as I'm certain there are some articles/posts there on LSD replacement/install.

Your source for an OEM LSD unit would be e-bay... our man JapAndy - the God of japanese parts direct from Japan can get you one used for around $250-300 USD plus minimal shipping charges... also, maybe talk to 94EG6HB to see if his source could do anything. Please do verify with a knowledgable shop before you go buying a new LSD... prolly an Acura dealer would be your best bet... since ITRs have LSD (don't they???) the factory mechanics would know how to test and diagnose the unit. If not, your next best bet may be a Nissan dealer since the SE-R Spec V.

I can say with some certainty that your symptoms are typical of a bad LSD. Your options are not cheap either way... they all involve a considerable amount of costly labour. Maybe someone else sees an economical way out??

buy another tranny used and install it as a package .... should be way cheaper on labour....

I thought about that... still a very pricey proposition, even with a LS tranny.
