i didnt notice anything... 207 KM on the original engine.. i did half bottle in vac line... half bottle in fuel tank... it didnt do **** all for me....
waste of 12 bucks Travis |
Pour about 1.5oz into each cylinder after taking out your plugs. Let it sit for a full night. Crank it the next day, you'll be real happy after all the smoke is gone!
|
Just went to automotion in scarb. and picked up 2 bottles of the engine stuff for $12.50 for the 2:D. I think he thought i was just buying 1 but who knows.
|
Maybe someone can do a DIY with some pics. I'd like to try this stuff. It's getting great reviews on honda-tech.
|
It would be nice to see dyno tests before and after.
|
so far ive dumped it in my gas tank and with my oil change and the car seems to run alot smoother. I still have to do the big part which is running it through the vacuum line, hopefully i see some dirty black smoke leave the car:).
|
Well i just did 1/3 a bottle through my IM and when it first went in the car smoked a bit, then it didnt while i put the rest of it. turned the car off and left it for like 5 minutes, then i turned the car back on and it struggled for a couple cranks but finally got it to start and a ton of smoke came out and the car idles a TON better and i took it for a quick spin and it pulls better than before too.
Anyone who has a car with any kind of KM's should use this product to clean out there engine. |
Glad to see another satisfied Sea Foam user! :)
|
I'm afraid to use it...
no doubt in my mind it's great product and removed crude from the engine. but... what if that crude is holding it together? :p |
anywhere in sauga to pick up seafoam?
|
what exactly is seafoam, and are there any negative effects that can be had with this product??
|
seafoam is pure petroleum, and no, there are no negatives from the proper use of said product. I've used it numerous times to clean and decarbon engine. I've also used Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) for the same purpose. I've found Seafoam to work better.
loudsubz, NAPA is the place I got it from... but for local stores, I recommend you just call a bunch of auto parts places. |
im going to give this a shot
thanks B |
According to their website, it's available at Carquest in Canada. I'm going to pick some up this weekend.
|
i have a question... I have an 2002 civic with 50k on it.. and im going to be switching over from regular 5w20 to Mobile 1 0w20 Syn. Would this SeaFoam be a gd product to use to prep. my engine for the new type of oil?
Also could i use this on my mom's 19-crusty-93 minivan to give it that little extention of life that it really doesnt need? Loudsubz.... Did u find a place in Sauga that sells it? Or anyone know of one i brampton? |
whats better seafoam of the stuff from gm
|
I say the stuff from GM (Cleens) kicks ass!
I'm just partial to the Cleens cuz I havent tried Seafoam. It's readily available anywhere (unlike Seafoam) and reasonably priced. My shop cost was <$5 for 500ml of Cleens and ~$6 for the aerosol from a local jobber in Mississauga (Davies Auto). I guess you can get it from the dealer or any other jobber who deals w/ ACDelco stuff. BTW GM also makes a good crankcase cleaner as well at a fair price, ~$4 or less if I remember right The Ford tune-up spray smells strong too, but I have yet to try it. The Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner is popular amongst the DSM guys and I've read good things about too. Just my 2 cents. |
