Scan Tool
I was just wondering if anyone has a SCAN TOOL or can access one? My girlfriends cars "Check Engine Light" went on saturday morning. Its a 97 Cavalier, and the car is continually dying when you lets the revs drop, or if you don't keep on the gas constantly. A friend came to check out the car, and played around with a few things, and in the end he said to try and get some kind of access to a scan tool, and it will tell me what the check engine light problem is.

I've got the Scan Tool on my laptop.... but you would need the conection cable in order to check what's going on.
I've actually never tryed it on my car.... so if you get a connection cable USB - ECU, PM me and we could check that Check Engine Light. |
my dad have a snap-on SOLUS scanner tool, it's pretty good=P

If u don't want to pay around $150+tax for the canadian tire reader or around $100+tax for the walmart model...
Go on Ebay, some seller from BC is always selling a few different kinds of BASIC universal OBD-II engine code readers for around $50CDN. I got one for my dad about 2 months ago, works great. Very basic, all it does is read the engine codes and lets u clear them. The package also comes with a book that lets u lookup what exactly is triggering the code to pop up. |
is this any good? http://cgi.ebay.ca/Innova-Equus-OBD-...QQcmdZViewItem
