S2000 Oil Filter

I thought I read somewhere that you can use a S2000 oil filter on a D16z6. ..is it true??.

Found it. looks like you can use a S2000 filter. ..supposedly it flows better since its made for a motor that revs 9500rpm and raises the oil pressure due to it being smaller then a stock D16 filter.

The S2000 Oil Filter is actually quite a bit bigger then the standard filter for the Civic. Hence why people use it to increase oil flow.

Honda used to use the large style filters, and then for some reason, switched to the small ones. These small units are made by Honeywell, the same people who make the Fram Filters.

The filter has suffered from build quality, but I assume it passes Honda standards.

The S2000 Filter (PCX) is practically identical to the JDM Hamp filter, and features FAR superior build quality.

yeah but in some cases you wouldnt want to run it like if you had a turbo car...the higher pressure could add to blowing out your turbos seals unless you had a restrictor

apparently Honda has issued a bulletin saying NOT to use the S2000/TL filter on other Honda cars like the Civic and such. i don't know the exact reason, but that's what Buddah said, and he worked at the honda parts dep't at parkway.
