s20 tranny?

Well like I was saying in the chat forum, I'm thinking about dropping in a d15b that comes with an s20 (LSD?) tranny. The setup was used in a 5th gen hatch. Anyone know if I would need different axles for my 89dx? And if so, what kind?

no i meant not use the s20 at all and use an si cable instead...like get a d16y8 with a cable si tranny...all d-series tranny's work with d-series motors...no? zc tranny would need axles too as far as i know and thats something i wanna stay away from. i dont really care about the lsd.

tranny mounting positions between 5thgen and 4thgen are different, look at the rear mount.

d15b is normal vtec <---jap spec of d16z6
the motor from the civic vx is (fuel economy) <--dunno about the engine stamp, never had intrest in these motors, but the exhaust manifold is same as 88-91 std models, the "honda-log" style turbo manifold..

there is also a rare *** d16a1 <--- sohc vtec....my buddy had one.
and the zc vtec ....sohc..
