EJ are coupe...but to check 100% its in your vin on your car...
You will see EJ and a number right after it.
For example....mine 95 coupe...EJ1

Unless your car is from the US or has a B16A2 swap, then that info is incorrect. The Canadian SI came with a D16Y8 as the stock motor. The SIR has the B16. The SIR is called the SI in the states though, so your info is probably from an American source.

the specs you posted are for Canadian sir's and american si's, though they got the chassis code wrong, it should be EM1.

Ok, thanks for helping me sort that out fellas. Now I would assume that I could use these codes to perform searches here, is there a way that I can tell whether a part will fit my car?

Chassis Code: EJ8

D16Y8
..
Displacement (cc): 1595
Power (bhp@rpm): 160@7600
Torque (ft/lbs@rpm): 111@7000
Compression Ratio: 10.4:1
Bore (mm): 81
Stroke (mm): 77.4
Cam Design: dohc
VTEC?: yes
OBD: 2
Year(s) Produced: 1999-2000
In the following car(s): Honda Civic Si

went to ct for an oil change and the dude there gave me different info than what I've found here. I have to assume that the info found on the tcc is right but maybe I've got my numbers wrong?

Thats what I'm trying to find out, it's a Canadian Si and would assume from looking under the hood it's a dohc.

if its a candian si, then u have the d16y8, sohc vtec trust me, ud know if you had the sir.

best way to check to see if your car has the sohc vtec motor is to check the small code on the engine block, if u can find it, it will say d16y8
