Running Under Water!

ok, heres my prob. my car sounds like its running under water. The RPMs sometimes drop to about 500rpms, and theres alot of blue/white smoke that comes out of my exhause when my motor is cold and when shifting 1st thru 3rd and it sometimes sounds like its going to stalls untill it warms up. Iv been told that it might be a blown valve or theres a hole in the valve.

What i need to know is how big of a job it is to fix it if it turns out to be a blown valve? Where is a good place to take my car in mississauga? And is it worth fixing it or should i just swap motors (nothing good just another d15)....If anyone has some info or tips that could help me out that would be great!! Thanx.

If you have a burnt valve it's best to just get a new head for 50-100$. Overhauling the head is costly. Do a compression test. Does it run lumpy?

Don't jump the gun.

Do a compression test first, could be something as stupid as a clogged iac (not likely, but i'm giving an ex.)

doesn't the combination of blue and white smoke eliminate the chance of it being a vavle, maybe something more like a cracked head / head gasket / or cracked block?

does the white smoke have a coolant sweet smell? cause it is cold outside and most cars have a bit of white smoke coming out of the back...

you probably knew that, but just in case

ok so i got the compression test done and one of my cylenders is only giving 10psi of pressure! Iv been told its most likely a burnt or bent valve!

I was just wondering whats the bast way to get this prob. fixed? Should i just just replace it with a "compleat head" or should i try and just get the valve fixed? What would something like that caost to get fixed (just so i know im not getting ripped)

Can anyone point me in the right direction to a good shop that will replace my head or fix the valve?????? Let me know guys!!

Thanx.

pull the head, inspect the head and block... act accordingly.

save your self time head work will cost you more then getting a
d15 or d16 sna slap it in, 1 day work not even new motors in
and no BS

if you have 10psi you know its messed up 1 way or another

white adn blue smoke your burning oil and coolent sounds to me
you , never heard of it being a bent valve.

if i were you i would do the swap

plus pulling the head apart will take you just as much time
let alone then fixing the head, and then hoping that that was the only damge.

well its only going to cost me about $200 for a new head and all the gaskets, and i desided im going to swap out the head my self. So thats way cheeper the buying a new motor. Alot of ppl have been telling me just to swap the head anyways. The smoke i know is the buring oil its been doing that for a little wile now. But ill let you all know how things turn out afet i swap the head! (this weekend-or next) Thanxk TCC.

if there a hole in ur valve ur compression would be zero, most likely ur head gasket is gone
