running at 12 psi on daily driver

will the stock pistons hold up under this? I plan on using a 0.5 mm metal head gasket to lower compression and I will be running a vortech 12:1 FMU....by the way, I will be intercooled and be running a block guard and/or posting the block....I also plan on upgrading the rings and rods...any suggestions for rings? As for rods, I plan on using 90-97 b18b1 non-vtec rods with a lathed crank end and a re-bushed wrist pin end....so...anyone have any suggestions as far as pistons go? will the stockers hold up?

BTW this is all for a D16Z6 with 700 original kms on it along with a T3 turbo, custom turbo manifold, and custom 2" intercooler piping....

any help would be appreciated!

PS Oh... and if you plan on only posting that you think its a waste of time.....dont waste the effort!

either invest in pistons or better fuel management... the 12:1 disk is not a very percise way of fueling. You'll need a new MAP as well, cuz the Honda MAP throws a code after 11 psi.

Rings... Total Seal has always been a favourite for me, but I've never really heard much about them in the way of Honda engines... prolly best to get Honda OEM rings.

12 psi on a big T3 will toast your motor with a stock bottom end.....plus 12 psi on a small t3 and on a t3/t4 hybrid wiht a huge A/r will to different, cause they flow differently, hence the hybrid flwos alot mroe cfm at 12 psi thatn a shitty littel t3 so the type of turbo yoru usign will effect it to....pistons I'd go with edyne rollorwave pistons and get the rods shot peened. Posting is best to be done before machining so you can get the bores nice and straight, for the pistons..it is superior to a block guard. All in all yoru lookign at alot of money for 200 whp.....I'd say forget eh bottom end and jsut run 7-8 psi with a 14b or samll 16g turbo adn 450 dsm injecotrs with a msd BTM and a afc to tuen injectors...that should get you into the 13's with a slick...adn if she blows then get another d16 for like 400 bux
