RPM Redlines

Hey everyone... I just got a quick Q:
I have a 1999 civic si coupe with a d16y8...I just want to know if anyone with the same car can tell me what there RPM gauge reads... mine read up to 10 and redlines at 8. the reason why I ask is I just bought the car a while ago and the guy I bought it from put aftermarket gauges on and I want to know if they are proper.

the only way to get it to rev past 7000 is to drive it up to 6500 in 4th gear then slam it down into first...vvvRRRRBBUZZZZZZZ...POP!!!!..

good but the speed limiters int he trany (or whatever they are called that stop you from "puuting" it into first at speed... are a pain .. therefore I suggest

a 5th gear doing 140 km/h or so .. slam to 2nd ... no speed limiters...

I've hit then rev limiting a few times with the D15 and the B16 doesn't do any damage, unless you dumb and do it regularily!!

Haha, I wish I had a video camera when I misshifted from 5th doin 120km/h down to 2nd gear, and released the clutch. That was the scariest thing ever, haha. Another stupid thing I've done before is choke out my engine, once in 1st making a left turn, and another time in third gear on the highway. Suprisingly my engine and tranny still run well and strong,

you own your car since new? was the ECU chipped? I've confirmed the gov'r speed, I'm sure it kicks in at 192 km/h

210 sounds like a chipped ECU
